Wow. The quality of this boot is remarkable, and you can tell from the moment you take them out of the box that they were built to last. The Vibram sole was a great choice for this design, as they have a reputation for durability. The leather quality is exceptional. If you are in the States, like me, you will probably want to order one size down from your typical American work boot. These seem to have just a touch more room around the toe than most British work boots, but the vamp is nice and snug, which makes for a very stable feel. They are not inexpensive, but they are worth every penny. I love these boots. If WL ever offers them in black, I will buy a second pair.

I have had these boots for about a month now and have been wearing as often as possible, very solid, need some breaking in, but once broken in, they are almost like gloves and can be worn all day comfortably as your feet breathe well especially wearing wool socks. Very happy to have accidentally stumbled on your web site and with the aid of Libs Slattery, got the right size. I wish you success for the future and hope to be having them resoled when needed. Thanks again
    George.

Ive had a pair of these boots for four years now and I work in them every single day…they are beautifully made of incredible leather and soooo comfortable I absolutely love them. What’s more they seem to be pretty much indestructible! I’ve really abused my boots in every possible way from mistakingly covering them in expanding foam and having to clean them off with acetone (a very bad idea) to snagging them on barbed wire and goodness knows what else….but with normal care they just bounce back looking better better!…The picture and description here look good but really don’t do them justice, for example the main toe box of these boots have a thick felt lining that keep you warm in the cold and I’ve never suffered with hot feet even on the sunniest days. I’ve also had them re-soled by William Lennon who did a great job of course……having boots made by great craftspeople in a traditional way with top materials is a joy, I couldn’t imagine wearing sweaty mass produced boring boots by anyone else ever again.

Good to have top quality craftmanship. Have just worn for first time and I am impressed by the comfort and fit. As I walk quite a few miles each day with my faithful Irish Terrier- I’m sure these boots will be more than adequate for the job.

Lifes sent me a few challenges recently – as a result, I totally forgot about the fact I had ordered these boots until I received an e-mail advising they had been dispatched. Received them today and have been wearing them for the past few hours. Utterly brilliant. Very very comfy and superb fit. Utterly brilliant bombproof piece of kit. They will be worn day and night from here on in – (will take them off for sleep only etc) and will post another review after a few months proper wear. So far – Iove at first sight and wear. Thank you so much for the brilliant service and product. Now for some real testing haha. They will get a good dosing of my home made saddle dressing (recipe from a saddler I know) once a week too to keep the leather fed and waterproof. Love em. Thanks, Greg.

First I came in contact with these boots and how and by whom they are made by an article in the last Lufthansa magazine. Very sympathetic, interesting and brilliant advertising . The boots fit like a second skin from the first day on and walking with them is really a pleasure. Order handling was as perfect as the boots are.
The kindly requested feedback probably took me only a small fraction of the expected lifetime of the boots so it was my pleasure.

I also read the article in the Lufthansa Magazine and decided to get these boots. After checking with Libs on the right size (txs !) the order process was very smooth. Got my boots and you can tell that these are special. A treat to the eye, craftsmanship in perfection. It did take me a while to break them in but now they fit perfectly. Already planning on getting my next William Lennons..

I’ve had a pair of these for about 5 years, and they fitted well on day 1. Since then they’ve moulded even closer to my feet.

These are not your average boots you will buy on the high street. They are not a fashionable shape. They do not have an option for Goretex. They are not featherweight. They are all the better for being none of these things. What they are is excellent boots; a shape that is foot-shaped rather than boot-shaped; boots that stand up to a lot of abuse; boots that are excellent (if hot) selections for a wide range of weather conditions; boots that are appropriate for any situation from the farmyard or the top of a tor to a smart-casual office (with a bit of a polish).

Four minor criticisms to these boots: (1) they need insoles. No biggie here and I’d rather have them removable than built in anyway. (2) On hot, long days they dye can bleed into your socks. In hindsight I wish I had had them lined but now I just wear black socks so that problem is solved. (3) The pull tabs at the back have a very minor design issue in that they are stitched across the tab, which after five years of use has finally ripped. (4) These boots last so long I am having a hard time justifying buying another pair, which I would love to do to help support this company.

Fantastic boots had mine about 3 weeks they were quicker to break in than my Derby boots, these should last me for years walking in the Peak District
Only problem leather laces only lasted 2 weeks but that’s not a problem

Having been incredibly impressed by the performance of my 78TC boots (see my other review), I wanted a nice shiny pair of Lennons for casual weekend wear, particularly for the outdoors and the winter. I’m happy to pay for Lennons because I know that no matter how beat up they get, they will still look good and they will still survive. I’m beginning to wonder what it actually takes to destroy these boots.

Opening the box, I really admired the ‘outdoorsy’ look of the boots, I think the zug leather looks better than the standard mid-brown when it’s straight out the box (and without patina). It’s actually not as reddish as the photo suggests. I ordered these with triple leather/dainite logger soles, which makes for a sleeker look than the standard vibram, although the feeling is almost identical.

Initially the boots were perfectly stiff, it was like wearing clogs. Surprisingly this was not uncomfortable, due to the well-designed shape of the last. The toe rolls up somewhat, so there’s very little flexing required of them. They began flexing well after several days wear. By day five I considered them to be ‘broken in’. The toe and ankles were flexing sufficiently, light crease patterns developed, and the leather insole was moulding to my foot shape. They began to look and feel like boots that someone actually wears.

I wore these through the snow many times, and it takes about 6 hours of immersion in wet (between 0 and -5C) snow before the boots soak through, which is pretty much as good as it gets for an unlined leather boot. Especially since I had not treated these with any product.

At some point next year I’m looking forward to buying the WWI boot, but I can’t justify it yet, because after one year my boots are still new!
